In life we all set ourselves challenges and these are sometimes aspirational goals. In setting out to achieve the goal, when shorter goals are set then we often have a better chance of reaching the bigger goal. Setting short and long term goals is a way of managing this. For each person the goal will be different but the journey can still be systematic. The outcome of any education is to acquire skills and knowledge – social, communicative and academic, that enable an individual to be employed, to be as self sufficient as possible and live happily in the community.
